Circumcision Decision?
Help! Just as the 3rd Trimester energy surge has happily brought me back to feeling somewhat normal, there is a new worry. Now that we know "it's a boy" we have to face the circumcision issue. I did it with my now-13 year old, and hate thinking back on my naivete around the whole pain/anesthesia issue. This time I am more tuned in, and I would love to hear from anyone who's recently dealt with this and what your anesthesia approach was. I am speaking to my doctor about it tomorrow but I know they will tell me their standard practice and would like to know anything else I can learn about it.

We just had our son a little over a month ago. I guess we didn't over-think the decision to have him circumsized. We did it. I was, and I have no memory of it. I suppose if we had a prevailing influence regarding the decision it would have to be "so he would be the same as his father". I checked a few online resources, and it looks like the "social norm" in this country is undefined - roughly 50/50.
